  • Our therapists can provide treatment in the District of Columbia and Maryland. Our dietitians can see clients in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, Colorado, and California.

  • RecoverED is an outpatient, completely virtual collective of providers where eating disorders can be treated both mentally and physically. Both therapists and dietitians are available to help treat eating disorders or disordered eating in the DC area.

    We understand that eating disorders frequently present with co-occurring diagnoses, with which our clinicians also have experience. If you have any questions or are wondering if RecoverED is a good fit for you, please reach out.

  • You do not have to be stepping down from a higher level of care or have an eating disorder to qualify for nutrition or therapeutic care. If you identify with intrusive thoughts related to food, movement, body image, and/or nutrition related labs, please reach out.

  • Nutrition: Our dietitians practice from a Health at Every Size © and non-diet approach. We also help clients towards Intuitive Eating when appropriate. We will never put you on a diet! We will work to help you find a peaceful and comfortable relationship with food.

    Therapeutic: Each provider utilizes their own treatment modalities which can be found in their bios and discussed during consultation calls. Some of the common methods include a Health at Every Size ©, anti-diet approach to recovery by using Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy among others.

    *Please keep in mind that your health and safety are our highest priority. If there proves to be a need for a higher level of care, we are ethically bound to make that recommendation and pause outpatient services until a higher level of care program has been completed. We will do our best to work with your full treatment team and provide suitable recommendations for placement if the need arises.*

  • Yes, you can input your Flexible Health Savings/FSA/HSA card information in the patient portal.

  • Every plan has a different policy for reimbursement, therefore it is important to call your insurer to learn more about eligibility. We are happy to provide superbills for sessions. Please refer to our fees page for more information.

  • A superbill is an itemized receipt of services that you can submit to your insurance company for cost reimbursement. Because we are out of network providers, we will provide you with a superbill so that you will be able to submit a claim for reimbursement.
